As a part of the project “Young European Act”, the headteacher Mrs Heilmann and me took part in the first project meeting in Burgas between 29 November and 4 December 2010. Our hosts were very kind, and as the city is really beautiful, we took walks on the beach or saw the sights in our free time.
During our stay they introduced their school, we met the colleagues and the students participating in the project. Then we soon got down to work with Petya Petrova, who is responsible for the project in the Bulgarian school discussing the program of the project and our tasks.
We met the students, and during their English lesson, where they did a test about Hungary we could hear how well they speak English.
The next day I told them about the Hungarian language and we tried to learn a few expressions we use when meeting for the first time, and which proved to be pretty difficult. However the students tried hard and did really well.
At the end of the lesson we sang the Hungarian folk song “Tavasz szél vizet áraszt” and the students were enthusiastic.
Then we had dinner together with the headteacher and a few colleagues from Geo Milev High School in a friendly atmosphere.
Before our departure we made an excursion to Sozopol 35kms from Burgas, where we visited the old part of the town and the Etnographic Museum.
The last day of our visit was about travelling home and we arrived in Hungary happily and full of experiences. Thank you for all of that.
