In this weekly column we will be posting poems composed by students or teachers or anyone who wants to share a poem with our readers. 😊<\/strong>

SWEET ANGEL
(by Siyana Zhelezarova, VIII b class, 2021)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every single touch of yours
drives me crazy for you.
Every single word of yours
has me believing you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assure me with your eyes,
say you\u2019re there for me.
A love that never dies,
a strong bond, a pure glee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save me with your kiss,
show you\u2019re needing me.
Feelings hard to miss,
because you\u2019re here with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I don\u2019t feel alone,
not even a bit.
To soften it from a stone,
you changed my heart, bit by bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You give me wings to fly,
looking proudly up at me.
I go high up in the sky,
you let me be, you set me free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hold your hand, bring you up,
kiss your scars, hold you close,
catch your face, \u201cHey, look up!\u201d
I point above while hard wind blows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re here, angel!\u201d I give you a shout,
\u201cShow what you\u2019re about, show your true self!\u201d
Because, without a doubt,
you\u2019re a sweet angel yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DILEMMA

Love is a Liar.
Love is a Fool,
Fulfilled with desire.
If only I knew it
how easily burns!
And erring so slow
you turn to see nothing
but glow\u2026
Asking for help
won\u2019t let you survive.
Look in yourself.
The answer \u2013 aligned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YOUR NAME

On a breezy day last summer,
you passed by me
with your bike,
going God-knows-where.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We waved at each other and you
continued your way.
I remember laughing
with friends \u2013 the ones that stay.
Later that day,
I caught myself thinking:
how I want someone who\u2019ll never leave me this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone like you.
A boy who had such a good heart
that he\u2019d never break mine.
If only I knew\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I came home that day
just to grab the mobile
and text you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was so hard
to express my feelings\u2026
I\u2019ve never been treated right
and would not risk it
all over again.
Maybe I shouldn\u2018t have
done it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You told me you felt
the same way
about me
and it was so nice
to finally sense I was LIVING!
Not just existing \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You were my reason
to have faith in the future,
until you became
a part of my past. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I still remember
your fluffy hair,
brown eyes,
goofy smile\u2026
Oh, and that laugh!
The laugh that gave a home
to the butterflies in my stomach.
You were not that tall or strong,
but you made me feel fragile.
When I was with you, nothing was wrong.
But you did not care enough to stay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess you didn\u2019t love me, anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The saddest thing is
I felt ready
to make you a permanent part of my life\u2026
You decided to leave.
Without any closure
or a reason why.
My parents would say
people come and go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did not get the time
to experience it at all! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted you to be my first kiss.
I wanted to hold you
and take care of you
whenever you needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You were the boy from the songs
that I listened to
and the books
that I read.
The only difference:
they had a good ending.
So where was ours? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such a shame, right?
That you\u2019ll never know
how much I talked
to my friends about you.
How much I cried
and how much I wished
it would have worked out
for us.
That you\u2019ll never know
I wrote that poem
for you.
Because, when they ask me to describe
what love feels like,
the only thing that comes to my mind
is your name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
