However, the shadows of COVID-19 are still upon us. Most countries have already lifted their safety measures. BA.2, otherwise known as the &#8220;Stealth&#8221;, is a rising challenge for China, England, Germany and several other regions. The situation in China is getting tenser and tenser. Some experts even regard it as the worst outbreak since Wuhan in 2020. Yesteday, Hong Kong reported over 26 000 new cases and 249 deaths. Is the pandemic far from over?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>The COVID-19 situation in China<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new wave of COVID-19 has heavily struck major cities in the Republic of China. The BA.2 variant of coronavirus is a subtype of Omicron. It is more transmissible, but the infected experience milder symptoms compared to the other types. Fever and body aches are the main symptoms. According to WHO, Omicrom continues to dominate over the other types of COVID-19. The number of infencted in the country is rising. Statistics from CSSE COVID-19 Data and Our World in Data show that there are 117 000 cases in the country. Furthermore, the entire Jilin province is in lockdown until March 21. The employees of the affected regions are working from home. Businesses are also closed and the residents are only allowed to shop for essentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Is Bulgaria in danger?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As of today, there are 2433 cases, according to CSSE COVID-19 Data and Our World in Data. That is 18% of the highest daily average, reported on January 27. Fortunately, the numbers are continuing to decline. The government has lifted some of the the safety measures. Thanks to that, businesses have the opportunity to recover from the disastrous last two years.
