Jane Austen is an English novelist. Not just a writer, but a woman who makes a statement. It will last for centuries, guiding girls and women alike. Her guidance to female readers helps them learn to express their own opinions, choices and viewpoints. Jane Austen depicts her characters so well, that they are almost alive in her novels. A particular effort she puts into the daily lives of ordinary girls. They try to hold on onto their lives and have a say in different situations. Unfortunately, most of them get married to wealthy men unwillingly. Such were the values back then, maybe a bit conservative, as many would say. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s why Jane Austen introduced a different way of seeing things, that can serve as a way of agreement on both sides. She has introduced the idea of girls having more freedom of choice and trying to improve themselves. For instance, they write books without hiding their name, they study or even try to earn money. In general, they stick to their own self, confident and educated. It’s wonderful that Austen could encourage women to value the female viewpoint in life. Not just be mothers or housewives, but to have a career, to develop their talent.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But do these values still get manifested in our modern world?
Do Austen’s works affect the younger generations in a positive way?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Since Jane Austen’s literature broke through, women’s values have been through countless ups and downs. In 21th century many girls have different values, complying with or denouncing Austen’s viewpoints. In the recent years it has became a trend for women to find a wealthy husband, and also become a model, favoured by many. However, at the same time there are many girls who aspire to study and strive for independency. It’s all about culture, character, and any outside factors like financial situations and environment. There are a couple of cultures that still religiously practice the customs of marrying their daughters to wealthy men. Mostly in Africa (Somalia, Niger, Tanzania) and a few more rural parts of South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Nepal).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are today’s teenagers attracted to her work?
There are many new movies of Austen’s books at the moment.
Yet, are they favored?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Jane Austen’s work has been affecting the young female generations for many years. In a good way of course. Her books have taught them that they don’t need to rely on a husband in their life. They can start a career without being discreet about it. “Pride and Prejudice” <\/strong><\/em>had the most significant effect on upper-middle class individuals’ attitude towards education, and her novels made many individuals think about education, particularly English education, in a groundbreaking way. This alone can show that Austen’s works have always been urging and will continue urging a lot of young girls to build their own personality and social growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Pride and Prejudice<\/strong><\/em>“, “Sense and Sensibility”, “Persuasion” <\/em><\/strong>and other novels written by Austin have numerous cinematic adaptations. They help the audience to get interested in her talent. That’s way the lovers of Jane Austen’s books can still enjoy her stories and get the important message, which is the key purpose of such movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, Austen’s book have been and still are affecting girls in a rather positive way, and help them grow into young and confident ladies. Her messages can be understood well on the different routes of literary interpretation, which is what makes her works versatile and exceptional.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
