On 24th February, the students from 10-B class and their class teacher, Mitko Bakurdjiev, organised a charity shop for the little brother of their classmate, Estel Georgieva.
Estel’s brother, Bojko is a young boy, born premature and later on diagnosed with Cerebral palsy. In order to recover, he is in need of some specific surgery – SDR, to be performed by Dr. Park in America. The surgery costs 100 000 BGN.
Having heard of the situation, Estel’s classmates did not hesitate to help:
“It’s for a good cause, and I am doing my best to contribute!” – Angel Sinkov.
The shop took place on the second floor of the school building. Their goods were mainly delicious homemade desserts – “banitsa” (a special pastry with cheese), cheesecake, cupcakes, buns, cookies and many more. There were also handcrafted items, such as masks and “martenitsi” (a special red-and-white decoration that the Bulgarians wear on the 1st of March to celebrate spring). The variety of choice attracted a lot of students and teachers who donated money and enjoyed the delicious treats.
At the end of the week, thanks to the hard work and kind hearts, over 1050 leva were estimated and transferred for the good cause.
