OPEN DOORS DAY
The Open Doors Day was held at the Creative Room back in June, 2021. It attracted many newcomers who wanted to enrol in our prestigious high school! Some of them are already studying here. We presented some of the school’s extracurricular activities and the students’ groups of interest.
There were interactive boards with lively preentations, on several floors. On one of them we presented the extracurricular language studies in Japanese and Korean. On the other we demonstrated the work of school clubs, such as the Etrepreneurship club, the Debates club, and ours: ELS Newspaper club.
The Japanese group shared great insight on their school events extremely well, but here we shall focus on what we did on the second floor.
PRESENTATIONS
First, there were the Entrepreneurs who made an impressive start by showing the STEM projects thay has participated in – with many awards received.
Then there were the Debaters. They told us about all the fun they had last year, and they combined this with a demo-session in debating and oratory. They even did an impromptu debate to test the skills of the audience and managed to attract their interest! A lot people took part in this little oratory competition, and the topics were great: “Does your grade show whether you are a good person? Do we need more PE classes?” The debaters also boasted about their well-deserved medals and trophies from 2021.

Then it was our time to present what we did in our club. Alexandra Sarieva and Preslava Stoyanova were the ones to do it. We mentioned the number of articles we had written and didn’t miss the opportunity to tell everybody: YOU CAN WRITE an article on any topic you like ad send it to us! You can pick the topic so as to keep your old interest while making a new one. We displayed our social media accounts with lots of followers. Everyone is welcome to join us there and share their opinion as a comment, or text us! We didn’t miss the opportunity to tell everybody that we also have a great poetry rubric where you can submit your own works. Of course, we are always ready to publish the best jokes, too!
Then there were the Chinese language activities, presented by Svetoslava Turpanova. Did you know that the Chinese have no alphabet? Weird, right?
MYTHS AND POEMS
Darin Gavanozov from VIII-a presented the story of David and Goliath. He did really well, showing off what an elite high school we are, indeed!
Then there were some poetry reciters. Vasil Kolaksuzov and Simeon Minkov from VIII-a presented two lovely sonnets by Shakespeare. The guests were also heard some poetry in Russian and German.
It all went great! We are ready for more exciting events in 2021-2022!
