My hero isn’t what you expect him to be. He doesn’t talk or go to school, nor does he walk on two legs. He’s big and most people are afraid of him because of his looks. But in reality, he’s just a huge fuzzy and goofy four-legged Rottweiler. And no matter what others may think of him, I love him; and for me alone, he’s the bravest hero in the world.

Rex is a cheeky giant with such a pure heart and soul. Now, you might be wondering what is it that he’s done to be my hero?
I’ve never been near death or anything as tragic as that, nor have I ever threatened my own life. Still, he has saved me from a dangerous place. Rex pulled me out of the darkness when I wasn’t able to do it myself, when there was nobody else beside me. He was the only one that stuck to my side ‘till the very end of my painful mentally-unstable days. They haven’t vanished forever but he always gets me through them very quickly. Whenever I’m feeling down and no one else notices – he does.
Rex would always come to me and lie beside me, then he’d put his paw on my leg or hand and start licking my face with a slight yelp. He is always trying to show me and prove to me that there is a bright side to everything in life and that whatever kind of bad day I’ve had, it doesn’t mean I have a bad life. He’s my ultimate emotional support, my best friend, my brother and my most beloved dog. He’s not just an animal to me, he’s more than simply a pet. To me he’s also human. Rex may not speak and he may be completely voiceless in this world, but I hear him. Every time that he comforts me, it feels as if he’s telling me, “Hey, girl, look, I’m here for you even if nobody else is, so stop crying, everything is going to be completely fine”.
Yes, sometimes he’s very annoying and foolish especially when he starts goofing around… but I love and appreciate him very much because he’s the only one that has never betrayed me, that has always been true to me.
Rex loves me the most when I am unable to find love for myself. This is why he’s my hero.
