On June 19, 2026, the eighth-grade students of Geo Milev English Language High School took to the stage of Toncho Rusev Hall at the National House of Culture to present their annual theatre projects. Prepared under the guidance of their English teachers, the performances showcased not only the students’ language skills but also their creativity, teamwork, and artistic talent.
The evening was hosted by Emma-Nikol Hristova and Lazar Ilchev from Class 8Д, who welcomed the audience and invited them on a journey through literature, history, music, and theatre.

A special guest at the event was Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Ms. Lilian Hemmins from the United States. Throughout the school year, Ms. Hemmins worked closely with the students, helping them improve their communication skills and confidence in English. During the performance, she also took part as a host and interview guest in several of the presentations. Her involvement in school life has been an excellent example of cultural and educational exchange, enriching students’ learning experiences and broadening their understanding of different cultures.
The first performance of the evening was presented by Class 8A, led by their homeroom teacher Ms. Mariyana Terzieva. The students transported the audience to a magical enchanted forest, where three pandas faced a series of challenges and mysteries. Through imaginative storytelling, poetic performances, and memorable characters, they highlighted the importance of knowledge and the power of literature.
Class 8Б, under the guidance of Ms. Proletina Atanasova, invited the audience on a journey through time. Their original production explored the classroom of the past, present, and future, showing how people, society, and education have changed over the years. The performance combined humour and reflection, while a lively rendition of Yellow Submarine by The Beatles added a nostalgic and authentic atmosphere.
Inspired by the life and works of William Shakespeare, the students of Class 8В, led by Ms. Diana Kolarova, recreated key moments from the playwright’s life. Through witty dialogues and engaging scenes, they explored timeless themes such as love, friendship, dreams, and human relationships. Their performance offered both entertainment and insight into the life of one of the greatest figures in world literature.

The students of Class 8Г, taught by Ms. Valentina Atanasova, transported the audience to Scotland. Their performance focused on Scottish culture and literature, featuring the legend of the Scottish thistle, works by Robert Burns, and excerpts from literary texts studied throughout the year, including the poem Findlay. The presentation combined storytelling, drama, and music, offering fascinating insights into Scottish traditions.
Class 8Д, with homeroom teacher Ms. Yanita Nikolova, delighted the audience with a musical inspired by popular American films and television series about school life. Filled with humour, rivalries, friendship, talent shows, and energetic dance performances, the production captured many familiar aspects of teenage life and earned enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The final performance of the evening belonged to Class 8E, under the guidance of Ms. Tatyana Shurelova. The students chose the format of a television news programme, presenting school life through creative reports, interviews, and humorous news segments. Their modern and entertaining approach, combined with musical performances and a lively finale, brought the evening to a memorable close.

At the end of the event, gratitude was expressed to all participants, teachers, and the school leadership, headed by Principal Ms. Zhaklina Neycheva, for their support and dedication in organizing the performance.
The event demonstrated the remarkable talent, creativity, and enthusiasm of the eighth-grade students of Geo Milev English Language High School.
