On 24th March, the event “Adventure” took place online on teasm, with students from ESL “Geo Milev”. It is part of the rich program for the celebrating the jubilee of the school – 50 years since its establishment. The video recording is available below – enjoy it to the full!
In total, 14 people attended, with the 10th graders representing the Portuguese culture and language, while the 9th graders represented the Chinese one.
The 10th graders, as proclaimers of the beauty of the Portuguese language, shared a few interesting facts about Portugal and some of the most famous symbols of the country. They also demonstrated their language skills. They first shared something short, written originally in Portuguese, afterwards translating it into English. Thus, they managed to offer an authentic and incredible experience between these two cultures.
The 9th graders who study Chinese told us about traditional, modern and innovatory trends in the famous Asian country. They presented three topics connected to some of the most recognizable features of this exotic world – food, architecture and today’s subcultures and trends in the country. The presentations shared many interesting things about the rich history and diversity of the Asians. Some useful advice was given on visiting the country and insight was provided on what the Chinese culture is like.
The students demonstrated detailed knowledge about these two worlds, combined with high language competence in both Portuguese and Chinese. They showed us some exiting facts in an interactive way and demonstrated their strong motivation to learn even more.
They proved once again one of the great advantages of studying at ELS “Geo Milev” – having the opportunity to learn two of the most melodious languages in our time!
