“Eclipse” is a Swedish rock band from Stockholm. They formed a group in the distant 1999. The band’s current line-up unites vocalist Erik Mårtensson, guitarist Magnus Henriksson, drummer Philip Crusner, and bassist Victor Crusner. Their best rock songs are “Viva la Victoria” (2021), “Never look back” (2017) and “I don’t wanna say I’m sorry” (2015). Today, they are a favourite band of many teenagers across the world.

“Viva La Victoria” was their first a single. It was later added to an album named after the same hit. It kicks off with a remarkable guitar sound, followed by a tune as catchy as the very beginning. The lyrics reveal a deeper meaning that aligns perfectly well with the tune. A rare occasion, indeed, especially in music. It tells the story of pirates that shall be victorious and defeat their enemies. Ok, no more spoilers! Go listen to it and decide for yourselves!
The next choice is “Never look Back”. An amazing song as well, and yet another example of a valuable message hidden in the text. Despite the lack of an outlined plot, all the beautiful metaphors circle around the meaning of life. That’s something very common for their songs.
Last, but not least, check out the story of a man who doesn’t feel guilty enough to apologize for breaking up with his ex: “I don’t wanna say I’m sorry.” Here’s an example of a song that gives a different perspective of a man’s role in a relationship. The parody of “I don’t want to say goodbye” and “I’m so sorry”, combined in such an ironic way coins a catchy phrase.
To conclude, Eclipse is a truly great band that we highly recommend!
It’s our choice for February’s band-of-the-month rubric!
